K-Beauty straight from South Korea
The Beauty of Joseon Dynasty Cream has been a cult favourite in the K-Beauty community for years, so when the company reached out early last year and asked if I wanted to try their products, I was totally down. It’s been just under a year since I first started using both the cream and the sleeping pack, and I’m finally here writing my review. There a ton of reviews of the cream, so here are my thoughts on the sleeping mask…

Back with an end of year round up my loves! This one has been the hardest yet to write, because I’ve tried so many incredible products in 2018. It’s been tough to narrow it down, so I’m doing things a little differently compared to previous years (2016 here & 2017 here). This year will be separated into product categories, with a winner and runner(s)-up too. If I’ve previously written a review of any product, I’ll link it on the name. I hope that covers and shares the best of the best with you! Also remember that this post only include products I’ve tried for the first time in 2018- not old favourites.

I love trying out a range of a brand’s products and really getting a true feel for them across the board. I had wanted to try Lagom for a while. If you haven’t heard of Lagom, it’s a skincare brand that was created with Korean makeup guru Go Won Hye. They have a unique, patented formula that uses AQUALICIA technology which helps control moisture within skin. After a couple of months of trying 5 of their main products, I have concluding thoughts on each and every one! Acids are an area of skincare I don’t claim to be an expert in- BUT I’ve done a lot of reading, research, and over the past few years have been expanding my testing of different acid products. This Purito product is different to all I’ve tried before in that it contains AHA, BHA and PHA. Thus the rather apt name Triple Synergy. I was excited to test this out, and around 6 weeks into continual daily use, I’m ready to discuss!

I feel like this year I’ve discovered some really fantastic cleansers…and by “fantastic” I mean gentle but effective and thoroughly enjoyable. So as we’re moving into my skin’s most difficult time of year (AKA winter), I thought it would be a great time to discuss these gentle cleansers that don’t dry me out! Let’s get right on into it.

Thank you for sharing your thoughts with me! So first up is a short post on the changes I make to my routine as the seasons change and the weather becomes colder. Cosrx are everyone’s favourite brand because they have simple, super effective products. I’ve continually turned to them for years now, and some of their products are my HG skincare items. They’ve been releasing lots of new products this year, which is very exciting, and this was one of them! Enter the Two in One Poreless Power Liquid. I’ve been using this on and off for the past 5 months and here are my thoughts.

In Korea, I worked later in the day and always took time for a long morning routine. Now, I leave my house at 6.40am and do NOT have the ability to get up at 5.45am simply to fit in a multi-step routine. So, I was faced with the challenge of getting my routine down to around 10 minutes. And somehow, I’ve done it! Please bear in mind, I don’t have children or other things in my life to be concerned with in the morning, and I appreciate a lot of you guys may not have it this simple. Here’s what I do.

Cosrx are really coming at us with the new products in 2018! And this is one I was particularly excited about. For a long while, I struggled to be enthusiastic about creams. After all, if it moisturizes, it moisturizes, right? However after lots of changes in my skin over the past 6 months or so, including a lot more dryness, I’ve found myself becoming increasingly “into” creams. How did this one work out? Let’s see.
Sulwhasoo are one of those brands that always, for me, feels just out of reach financially. I’ve treated myself to a couple of products here or there, but this high end luxury brand just isn’t sustainable for my budget, and has to be a once-in-a-while treat. My drooling over the products and constant desire to buy, however, has never subsided. Enter K-beauty fairy godmother Jude from Beauty Tap (and Fifty Shades of Snail), who invited me to test and review a selection of products from the site. She gifted me a hanbang queen of products: Sulwhasoo Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Water. And here I am after over a month of use. Let’s get into it, because we all want to know- is it really worth spending $80 of our hard earned money on a toner?
