Missha Line Friends Tension Blusher

Missha’s Line Friends Collaboration seems to have been hugely successful, and I can certainly see why. The simple cuteness of the packaging, plus quality makeup at a reasonable price, makes the line irresistible. I’m really trying to focus my shopping on quality products…not just for the packaging or marketing, which I have definitely been guilty of in the past. With this collaboration, I went for the Magic Cover Cushion and the Tension Blusher. Whilst I’ve really enjoyed both, the blusher has become an absolute staple for me and I think it’s a great piece of makeup. So here’s the rundown on what has become a favourite of mine.

Packaging

I mean, the packaging is just adorable. Sure, it’s not everyone’s taste, but this little brown bear with blusher on his cheeks to me is just so Korea, and I love it. The packaging is also easy and functional. The clasp is very firm and sturdy; the casing is smooth and has not scratched in my handbag. The mesh functions very well in dispersing the liquid blush over the puff to ensure an even and natural looking application.

Shade

I went for shade CR02, Rosy Dress, which is a dusty pink colour. Surprisingly, the other five shades did not suit my skin tone in the slightest and this was the only one I would purchase. Even though the liquid itself is fairly pigmented, the mesh allows the blusher to be applied sheer and lightly, or alternatively you can go for a stronger cheek colour. It’s versatile in terms of colour strength.

This is how sheer and light the colour can be applied- hopefully you can actually see it…

How to apply

For the sheer, light cheek colour I go for, I press the puff VERY lightly onto the mesh. I then liiiiiightly pat the puff onto my cheeks. I don’t reapply the liquid onto the puff, but continue to pat the colour that is already on my cheek to ensure it’s well blended.

Formula

The liquid itself is much thicker than I expected, and significantly thicker than my Iope cushion blush formula, for example. However like I said, because of the mesh, it disperses well onto the puff and applies well. The thickness does not prevent a natural look. The formula is also not drying in the slightest, and keeps my cheeks dewy throughout the day.

Finish

The blusher really melts into my skin and gives the most natural pink flush. It is fairly dewy and looks very pretty over a cushion base. I tend to apply the blush very lightly to give more of a sheer covering, and I find that it holds well throughout the day.

Price

The blusher is only 11,800 Korean Won. I think this is a real bargain for such a pretty, quality blush. I wear it so frequently, both for day time and night time, and it has been a great investment. At that price, the quality is great, and even at a higher price, I would have been impressed.

Where to buy

I bought it in the Missha store here in Korea. For overseas buyers I have seen the blusher at:

Amazon

Ebay

ibuybeauty

Koreadepart
