Seoul Selections- May 29th

So new plan for the blog! Each weekend I’m going to post my weekly favourites from the past seven days- my Seoul selections. I want to share what I enjoy through the week in cosmetics, skincare and other cute bits and bobs I manage to get hold of. Here we go, my favourites from this week…

  1. Denim Shorts- Bershka 29,000 Korean won

I’m going to be perfectly honest, I have a LOT of junk in the trunk. My backside is on the sizable side, and having a smaller waist in relation to my backside and thighs, makes buying jeans/denim shorts a difficult task. Stick me in the land where a UK size 12 seems virtually impossible to find outside of Forever 21 and HnM, and you’re giving me a huge headache trying to shop for my ass. So when I entered Bershka last Saturday, I knew the stars had aligned for me when there before me were size 12 denim shorts, THAT ACTUALLY FIT. They are sliiightly large on the waist, but nothing a belt can’t fix, aaaaand the perfect fit for my backside and thighs. I actually couldn’t believe it, and I think I’ve been telling everyone all week what a miracle it is. Add in some white ankle socks with my white trainers and I’ve got Korean style dowwwwwn.

2. Missha Sheer Fluid Shading and Tony Moly Goddess Aura highlighter in No.2. This week I’ve been going for more bronzed looks with my base makeup. These two products work beautifully together for light contouring with the shading fluid, which is natural looking and easy to blend, plus the gorgeous yet subtle shimmer of the highlighter. They’ve made me feel much more summery and sunkissed, and I know I’ll be using them more as we get into July and holiday time!

3. Maybelline Great Lash Blacker than Black Mascara. This is such a classic mascara and I’ve been turning to it a lot in the past couple of weeks, largely because it doesn’t smudge easily. Being from the UK means 30 degrees Celcius days are hotter than hot for me, and inevitably I sweat and my mascara runs. This mascara is helping me battle the smudging by staying fairly firmly in place throughout the day. Plus I adore the shape of the brush head for application- so easy and reaches every lash from base to end.

4. Biotherm Aqua Source Hydration Gel. The gel is a luxury sample I received with the Biotherm Life Plankton Mask, and I’ve fallen in love with it as a morning moisturiser. It’s so light and feels amazing on my skin. It’s great for hydration yet absorbs so quickly. I keep talking about the summer, but this really is the perfect product for a hot humid summer! I’m very tempted to buy the full size when my sample runs out. The only slight negative for me is the strong scent. It does fade but its a little overwhelming at first.

5. Beauuuutiful nail gem stones from Daiso, and the strong as hell Ducato nail glue. These cute little gem stones were only $1 from Daiso but they look so adorable, and are a fun bit of glam for nails. I’ve only been applying them to a couple of fingers so it’s not overload. The Ducato glue is by far the best nail glue I’ve ever tried. It has a great mechanism for only dispensing one small drop of glue at a time, and it keeps whatever I’m applying firmly in place until I use the remover to take it off. I bought it in Japan but I have seen that it is also available online, and I’ll definitely be looking for refills for mine when it runs out!

  1. I’ve been chained to my Tony Moly Banana cream cleanser for weeks now, that and my Scinic Honey All in One Ampule. I really can’t live without them

But I’m just counting the days until my su:m37 rose cleansing stick arrives because I know it will be a new favorite of mine.

    1. Ooh I’ve never tried the honey Ampoule, only the snail which I love! Is the honey version heavy or not? I was worried it would be too much for my skin.
And yes the Rose cleanser!! Exciting, it’s one of my faves, let me know how you find it ?
